Assam to have 10 new co-districts

According to the Prime Minister’s office, Assam will have 10 new partnership regions in the state to 49 in the state.
The newly created common regions will be Boko-Chhaygaon and Palashbari, Sonitpur, Mariani and Teok in the Kamrup region.
Eight of them will be opened on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 on Wednesday, August 13th.
In an article in X, CMO, “With the opening of 10 common areas in the second stage, Assam Govt takes another step to improve the management of the base,” he said.
The initiative aims to bring basic services closer to citizens, increase administrative efficiency and strengthen the presentation of public welfare.
In the first stage, 39 common zones were opened on 4 and 5 October last year.
The common region has various powers related to land income, development works, welfare plans, magician functions, food and civilian materials, administrative issues, Panchayat and rural development and disaster management.
