Students in the UK, Wales and Northern Ireland took the results of the exam on Thursday and many of them learned whether the apprenticeship or work will progress.

Given the highest grades of the A -level entrances in London, and according to 2025 exam figures, the existing rating system has been given the widest notes since the introduction.

32.1% of the entrances in the capital was given this year, the highest for any region in the UK and 31.3% in 2024.

In contrast, Northeast England had the lowest regional percentage of 22.9% this year from 23.9% in 2024.

According to the analysis of the PA News Agency, the gap between these two regions is 7.4 points last year and 9.2 percent of points since the start of the current rating system in 2010.

North-East England is only one of the two regions to see an annual decrease in entrances with the best grades, the other is West Midlands (falls from 24.8% to 24.2%).

At the same time, the ratio of inputs given A or A*, which was 22.9%this year, is lower than the equivalent figure in the pandemic year of 2019 (23.0%).

For the inputs that took the first class of A, London had the highest rate (11.3%from 11.3%, 11.3%) and the lowest level of North-East Britain (6.8%, 7.8%).

Here, the gap of 4.8 percent is wider than 2024 (3.5 points), but it is not as large as during the pandemi when it reaches 6.8 points in 2021.

North-east England and West Midlands are the only region that sees an annual decline in A*entrances.

In contrast, all regions reported an annual increase in an annual increase in a given entry rate, London and Southeastern England to almost the highest percentage (79.54% and 79.45% respectively) and East Midlands (73.6%).

At the national level, 30.4%of the entrances in Northern Ireland received Wales (29.5%) and A or A*, higher than equivalent figures for England (28.2%).

For the inputs given C or above, Northern Ireland was ahead of the UK (77.7%) and Wales (77.2%) 85.8%.
