Hezbollah warns disarmament plan could spark civil war

If Hezbollah tries to confront or eliminate the Iranian -backed group, he raised the civil war ghost with a warning in Lebanon.
The government wants to control weapons with a US -backed plan following the military campaign against Hezbollah, which was established with the support of Tehran’s revolutionary guards twenty years ago.
However, the group resists the pressure of disarmament, saying that it cannot be realized until it occupies Israel’s strikes and a southern Lebanese strip with Hezbollah Castle.
Leader Naim Qassem in his speech on TV on Friday, “This is our nation together. We live together in honor and we are building sovereignty together – or if you try to confront us and eliminate us on the other side, will not be the life of Lebanon.” He said.
In the last two years, Israel has made heavy blows in Hezbollah, killed most of the best rice, including former leader Hassan Nasrallah and 5000 fighters, and destroyed most of his arsenal.
Last week, the Lebanese cabinet assigned the army to limit the weapons only to the state security forces, which made Hezbollah anger.
Qassem accused the government of applying the American-Israel order to eliminate the resistance, even if it caused civil war and internal contention.
However, Hezbollah and Shi’ite Muslim ally Amal movement, still scope for negotiations, while any street protest decided to delay.
“There is still room for a political decision before discussing, adjustments and the situation rises to a conflict that no one wants.” He said.
“But if it is imposed on us, we’re ready and we don’t have any other choice … At that point, there will be a protest that will reach the American Embassy in Lebanon.”
The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, which ruined the parts of Lebanon, exploded in October 2023, when the Palestinian ally Hamas opened fire on the South border with Solidarity at the beginning of the Gas War.
Hezbollah and Amal are still politically influenced, throwing Shiite ministers into the cabinet and holding the Shiicite seats in the parliament.
However, for the first time in the years, they do not hold the third of the cabinet and allow them to veto their decisions in the past.
Hezbollah receives strong support between the Shiite community in Lebanon, but requires disarmament for the rest of the society.
