Young vape users three times as likely to start smoking, study finds | Vaping

According to a study that leaves the health effects of e-cigarettes naked, it is likely that young people who are steamers will start smoking, develop asthma and have weak mental health, such as those who do not.
According to the biggest umbrella examination of all evidence of youth vaping, vaping among young people who warned e-cigarettes can act as a passage is then linked to smoking.
Researchers found relationships with risks of respiratory, headache, bad oral health and substance use, as well as other harmful results such as asthma, cough, injuries and mental patient health.
SU Golder, the author of York University Health Sciences Associate Professor and Research, said, “Consistency in evidence is striking. During multiple work, young people who use e-cigarettes are more likely to smoke in the future. These findings support more powerful public health measures to protect their skin from vaping-related risks.”
Although the researchers have not yet been able to say that Vaping is absolutely leading to smoking children, they have concluded that precautionary policies are required to restrict the sale and marketing of Vapes to young people.
Dr Ronny Cheung of Royal Pediatric College said that the study has added to evidence that youth is a serious threat to health and prosperity with its strong connections with cigarettes and other harmful behaviors ”.
Cheung called on the government not to delay the application of tobacco and vapes;
The World Health Organization (WHO) had previously described the increase in vaping children around the world as worrying. Figures Competed With action on smoking and health This year, 20% of children between the ages of 11 to 17 in Great Britain have tried vaping and estimated that they had an estimated 1.1 million children and fell to three levels in 2020.
For the new study published in Tobacco Control magazine, the researchers examined 56 reviews, and most of them claimed that young people who were vapes were about three times the likelihood of starting smoking like non -vapes.
Asthma was the most common respiratory health condition with consistent relationships between 20% and 36%, the risk of diagnosis and 44% deteriorating symptom risk.
The researchers acknowledged that umbrella investigations were of variable quality and that it was difficult to prove a causal relationship because the evidence was mostly observed. They called on to better understand whether Vapes was really a door to smoke.
Last month, researchers at the University of Michigan found that one -third of the British youth, the vape, would begin to smoke tobacco, that is, in the 1970s, it means smoking as much as their peers.
Hazel Cheeseman, General Manager of Cigarette and Health Action, said, “In recent years, the increase in the young ferry has been very concern and needs urgent action from the government. Vapes is a helpless to leave smoking adults and is less harmful when smoking and should not be used by children.”
He is a statistician from the University of Cambridge. Stephen Burgess said that the research was “more likely that Vaping users are likely to be behavioral, but whether Vaping is really a reason for these behaviors, üzerine
“The associations shown are both wide and large in terms of scope-it is clear that the users are at a higher risk than non-user.
Ann Mcneill, a professor of tobacco addiction at King’s College London, said that most of the studies of researchers have been “critically low or low quality grades, ie writers should be extremely cautious before making any conclusion”.
He said that the consistency of the relationship between vaping and smoking may be other reasons-for example, a teenager seeking sensation or with an impulsive personality. Other studies facing the population levels in vaping and smoking, he said smoking decreased as youth vaping increases in a population.
John Dunne, General Manager of the UK Vaping Industry Association, said: “The science community is not based on examination about the vaping and this last working seems to be sleeping on the invoice.
“We must stop demonizing the vaping because 220 people will die unnecessarily from smoking diseases every day in England until the relative risks of cigarettes and vaping are understood by smokers.”
A Social and Social Care Department spokesperson said: “Our health advice is clear, the vapes is less harmful than smoking, and for smoking, children and non -smokers, an effective release assistance should never make a ferment.
“The worrying increase in the youth ferry requires attention – so we have commissioned this research, the most comprehensive examination of the health effects of youth vaping to date.
Uz We take a decisive action through a turning point that will put an end to the dependency cycle and stop the new generation from connecting to nicotine.
