Haveri to get 8,794-tonne cold storage to serve needs of farmers

Shivanand Patil, Minister of Agriculture Marketing and Responsible for the Havari Region, launched a work on Mega Cold Storage in the Havari region on June 22nd.
8,794 tons of cold storage will be built at the cost of 30 Crore in the APMC field near Hoolihalli-Konebevu villages. The Karnataka government said it would build three more storage facilities within the scope of the RIDF-30 program.
The Minister expects the third largest part of Karnataka after the Ranebennur agricultural product market and Hubball.
The Minister said, “The new APMC market was built with a cost of 220 Crore and the stores were allocated to the store owners. However, not all have not yet opened them.
The Congress said that the government revived the APMCs in Karnataka and reduces the trade tax. “We have collected APMC Cess worth 500 crube with tax on 60 Paise for each ₹ 100,” he said.
