India successfully test-fires Agni-5 ballistic missile from Odisha

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, India successfully tested the middle-range ballistic missile agni-5 from the integrated test range in Chandipur.
In a statement, the Ministry of Defense said that the launch confirms all operational and technical parameters and was carried out under the auspices of the Strategic Forces Command.

The Ministry, “Medium-range ballistic missile agni-5, was successfully tested from Chandipur on August 20. The launch confirmed all operational and technical parameters,” he said.
The missile tested on Wednesday is a kind of AGNI-5, which is an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which is developed indigenously with India’s 5,000 km range. Designed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the system has been developed by considering the country’s long -term security requirements.
The previous attempt of AGNI-5 was held on March 11, 2024, which DRDO has successfully tested the missile equipped with independently targeted re-entry tool (MIRV) technology and allowed it to hit more than one target with a single launch.
