Voter roll row: W.B. govt. complies with poll body directive, suspends 4 officials

The Western Bengal Government reported to the Election Commission (EC) on Thursday that he had complied with the directive of suspending four officials on the allegation of irregularity while preparing election rolls. However, he refused to record a furnace against the authorities.
After the government agreed to dismiss two personnel from an active questionnaire, the leader Manoj Pant, who met the authorities at the EC center in Delhi on 13 August, informed EC about the government’s last action.
On August 5, EC, the government, four officials – two election registration officers and two election registration officers – and one data entry operator – and 24 Pargan and Purba Medinipur regions of Baruipur Purba and Moyna in the parliamentary seats of the parliamentary seats were directed to offer a fir for “irregularities”.
Five personnel were accused of fraudulent record of 127 voters using false documents, and EC determined the date of 11 August to respond to the secretary.
Mr. Pant wrote to EC, indicating that two of the five staff, including the data entry operator on 11 August, were withdrawn from the survey duties. In a letter to EC, Mr. Pant said that the government has launched an internal investigation and disciplinary steps on government officers that “constantly sincerity and competence” will be “disproportionately hard”.
Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee said no action against the authorities.
Reacting to social media, BJP leader Amit Malviya said that the state government was “flashing by EC’s order and partially fits”. “Mamata should be open to everyone that Bannerler is not above the laws and that Western Bengal is not outside the federal laws,” he said.
