Odisha to Merge BSE, CHSE; Free Textbooks for Class IX and X Students

BHUBANESWAR: In a major reform to organize school education, the Odisha government decided to unite the Council of Secondary Education (BSE) and the High Secondary Education Council (CHSE) in a single United Board. The proposal was cleared on Thursday evening at a high -level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
As part of the decisions, Prime Minister announced that all students in IX and X classes will now receive free textbooks. So far, this benefit was limited to planned caste and planned tribal students, and free textbooks have been provided up to Class VIII.
Emphasizing the focus of the government on the holistic development, CM said that the assistant nurse midwives (ANM) or multi -purpose health workers will be deployed to student pensions with the rate of meeting their basic health needs. In another step towards transparency, confirmation for new private schools will now be processed completely online.
The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of mother tongue -based education for tribal students to improve learning outcomes. In order to facilitate this, a multilingual training center will be established in Koraput with the support of the SC&T Research and Education Institute (SCstrtı).
For inclusive education, the state will assign special educators (in special education) as resources between clusters to support children in different ways. In addition, Training and Training and Training Council (SCERT) will be developed in NCERT lines, while the textbook publishing and marketing directorate will be further strengthened.
