Ruben Dias: Manchester City defender extends contract to 2029

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias signed a two -year contract extension.

The previous 28 -year -old agreement would end in 2027, but the new deal will take him to 2029 with 12 months.

Portugal joined City from Benfica for a fee of £ 65 million in 2020 and was elected as the Premier League player of the year at the end of the first season.

The defender helped City for four league championships at Etihad Stadium for five years, the Champions League, EFL Cup and FA Cup.

“I’m incredibly happy today, Di Dias said.

“I love Manchester – now my home – and I love Manchester City fans.

“When I thought we played the cups we won and the time I spent here, I couldn’t imagine playing elsewhere.”
