GregGS fans were disappointed because the oven chain lifted a favorite for many of the stores in the UK. The fast-food restaurant, which specializes in bakery goods, such as iconic sausage roller, sells sweet treats and sandwiches and has more than 2,500 branches throughout the country. Fans realized that one of their favorite sandwiches disappeared, many of them to express their disappointment to social media, the lack of the store’s refrigerators.
Greggs removed the fried chicken salad roll from the menu at all stores in the UK. Solar reports. The fans noticed that the sandwich would disappear in the last few weeks, a similar but different menu element was apparently taking place. The fried chicken salad roll consisted of £ 3.95 and a soft roll consisted of cucumbers, lettuce and tomato and frying chicken covered with mayonnaise.
Expressing their astonishment, a Reddit user published: “Can someone please help? I want to eat the best sandwich and again I’ve ever eaten.
Others confirmed that the menu element indeed disappeared from local GregGs. A user said: “My local Greggs did not have months. This was my favorite sandwich.” Another said: “This was one of my favorites.”
Another shared: “I am still devastated to 10/10 sandwich.”
However, GregGS introduced a similar sandwich with some slight changes. The new frying chicken salad rolled with tomatoes, cucumbers, mixed leaf salad and mayonnaise.
GregGS CEO Roisin Currie said that he had previously intended to add healthier options to the menu of the baking chain, and that weight loss drugs such as Özempic show an effect on consumer habits. “If someone is in the GLP-1, we still know that they should eat, but what they need to eat is starting to change, and the parts they start to eat are changing.
“This is really important for us and we have the options for various protein-led in our range, and also to make sure that we have some snack products that customers are looking for in any of the GLP-1 drugs.”
