The city said only dogs may swim in the pool during this time.
“Sorry humans, it’s for your health and safety. If a dog requires assistance, please remove them from the pool immediately,” said a notice on the City of Toronto website.
Proof of rabies vaccination is required and an adult aged 18 or older must accompany the dog and watch from the side. Owners can bring a maximum of two dogs.
Reservations are not required – show up with your dog and sign in – but any dogs displaying aggressive behaviour will be asked to leave the pool area.

The dog swims are free, but the City of Toronto will accept donations of peanut butter, freeze-dried treats (liver, chicken, beef) and toys.
A city media relations official told the Toronto Sun on Wednesday that “leisure swims are free for residents, in addition to the dog swim program.”
Payment is required only for human swimmers participating in aquatic fitness, lane swims or instructional programs.
