India, Bhutan sign pact for further co-operation in agriculture, allied sectors

India and Bue signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.
According to an official statement made on Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Agricultural Secretary Develic Chaturvedi and the Bhutan Royal Government signed an agreement (MOA) to further strengthen cooperation in agriculture and bilateral sides, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farm (MOAL).
The signing of a memorandum of an agreement reflects the common commitment of the two countries on food safety, sustainable agriculture and rural prosperity.
“Agricultural research and innovation, livestock health and production, post -harvest management, value chain development, and knowledge, skills and expertise exchange, including the reconciliation Zapti will serve as a framework for cooperation in various fields summarized.” He said.
In order to implement the memorandum of the Memorandum, the first session of the Joint Technical Working Group (JTWG) was collected. The two countries agreed on reference conditions for JTWG and priority cooperation for emergency actions.
Chaturvedi spoke about a series of attempts initiated by the Indian government for the growth of the agricultural sector, as well as about priorities and difficulties.
During the JTWG session, India and Bue had detailed discussions on important areas of cooperation such as agriculture, animal husbandry, agricultural marketing and cooperatives, food processing, seed sector, research and technology cooperation and capacity development.
The two sides agreed to hold the next JTWG meeting in India at a mutual date.
