Why more people are travelling to coastal areas than ever before

British ‘coastal destinations have seen an increase in the number of visitors compared to this time by railway passengers this summer.

The Industrial Organ Railway Delivery Group (RDG) said that there is a major increase in people traveling to coastal stations compared to 2024 and that it has seen a growth in the number of areas in the North East, South East and East Angliia.

Stations in South East and East Angliia increased by 32 percent and 18 percent in June compared to the same month of the previous year.

Coastal regions in the North East, passengers traveling from North England in the same period, an increase of 25 percent.

RDG said that the greater increase in demand for these coastal regions compared to other parts of the UK is associated with warmer temperatures that encourage more people to visit beaches.

RDG General Manager Jacqueline Starr said: “Our analysis shows that changing temperatures also change the way people travel.

“For the first time, summer getaways to the beach corresponds directly to Met office models for both temperature increases and areas with the most dry conditions.

“August for the coastal stations proves that there is a vital month that constitutes a large part of the visitors throughout the year, and many of them show a huge increase in passenger numbers.

“Whether it is a coastal escape, to discover a family in a new place or visiting, each trip is more than a journey, the chance to support local high streets, independent enterprises and to increase economic growth throughout the country.”

Approximately half of the passengers on the coastal railway roads (47 percent) live in the same region.

During school summer holidays, RDG said that they will contribute more than £ 678 million to the local areas where families traveling by train will leave and more than £ 916 million at their arrival points.

The most popular days for traveling to coastal stations are Fridays and Saturdays, which shows that many people take daily trips or short breaks.

This year’s June, 2023, 16.7c for the month of 16.9c for 16.9C temperature was the hottest record for England.

The average of the UK was 15.2c and took second behind 15.8C in 2023.

These are met Office temperature records until 1884.
