NEW DELHİ/Lucknow (Reuters) – The Indian government faces a reaction from drivers after the release of the fuel blended with 20% ethanol throughout the country in the midst of fears caused by some automobile manufacturers’ lack of clarity.
India, the world’s third largest automobile market, has set 2025 targets for 2025 ethanol blending in the fuel called E20 as part of the focus of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on clean energy.
However, in recent weeks, almost all of the country’s 90,000 fuel stations has been the only option. Old mixtures such as E5 and E10, typically more compatible with old cars, are mostly removed and leave the drivers to a single option.
The government said that the E20 has reduced carbon emissions, but in a press release, which deals with consumer concerns, there may be a “marginal” blow to the fuel efficiency of old cars.
Already more slow sales and rare soil magnets struggling car manufacturers, contributing to consumer anger about the lack of election, provided mixed guidance. On Monday, a public interest case will be heard in the High Court.
He told Reuters, the manager of two fuel stations in the northern city of Lucknow, that drivers were so angry that some stations stopped giving information about the change.
“People are exploiting us. Then we decided not to tell people.” He said.
Petroleum and highway transport ministries did not respond to requests for comments.
“India’s journey to Ethanol cannot be stopped on August 8, Hardep Singh Puri, Hardep Singh Puri. He said.
Days later, the Puri Ministry of Puri “in some old vehicles, some rubber pieces and gaskets may require” a simple process “.
‘Give me a fuel’
Automobile manufacturers are competing to assess concerns, but there is little clarity especially about the future of old cars.
Skoda has published a FAN on its website stating that the components of the cars sold in India before April 2020 were “evaluated” for the E20. On Friday, Reuters told him that the vehicles sold after this date were “completely compatible with material” without explaining what happened to the old cars.
Toyota said in a statement that a “modest variation” in the fuel economy in its cars is probably with E20.
On Monday, Renault said that 28 -year -old technology advisor Ankur Thakur was not “tested” for the E220 of 2022 Renault Triber via e -mail and was not recommended to use fuel. “
