E-commerce platforms ramp up seasonal hiring ahead of festivities, create over 3.8 lakh jobs

New Delhi, August 29 (PTI) Indian e-commerce platforms, raises seasonal recruitment as it envisages an increase in demand in the next festival season.
Flipkart created major e-commerce platforms, supply chain, logistics and customer service operations, including Flipkart, Amazon and Myntra.
Flipkart, 2.2 and 3 cities in the new festive delivery centers as well as the establishment of more than 2.2 announced.
“Flipkart, who pioneered the festival season, scales employment opportunities, infrastructure and technology distribution in 28 states. With the creation of more than 2.2 lakh business opportunities, the inclusive recruitment of the last miles and 3 cities, Flipkart’s ecosystem-firm approach was built for the scale of this festival season.
Amazon India created more than 1.5 lakh opportunities in the network of fulfilling centers, ranking centers and the last mile delivery stations network.
These include direct and indirect working opportunities in more than 400 cities in India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Haydarabad and Lucknow.
Amazon also launched 12 new satisfaction centers (FCS) and expanded 6 FCS for the festive hurry. Hubli announced the launch of six new ranking centers in Trivandrum, Rajpura, Gorakhpur, Moradabad and Preğraj.
Fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform Myntra created more than 11,000 new business opportunities through its partners to manage the expected demand increase during the future festive sale.
According to a company statement, this seasonal roles will support the company’s logistics, customer service and the latest miles operations.
These warehouse positions will include sorting, rating and packaging functions in the performing centers in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Calcutta and Delhi.
“Compared to last year, we expect a 20-25 percent increase in festive recruitment in blue and gray-collar segments. Interestingly, the needs of recruitment from our customers started to prepare a festive preparation only with an increase of 53 percent between July and August, and we are waiting for a strong goal of Q2 itself,” he said.
The fluctuation is directed by a structural change beyond the metropolises. Dave, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Indore and Nagpur cities such as, businesses go beyond traditional markets as they emerged as live employment centers, he said.
In the last five years, the festive concert in India has gone through a rapid growth phase and then through gradual stabilization.
