Inaugural Essence HBCU Classic football game to kick off Saturday in Boston

A new tradition for HBCU football may be in one of the oldest football stadiums on the campus of Harvard University.
“This is a really cultural activity, Dere Derek Brown, the founding partner of Hbcu Classic, said. This year opening Workers’ Day on the weekend on Saturday with Morehouse College Maroon Tigers and Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls.

The organizers of the event said that they chose Boston because of a large number of HBCU graduates in the region and chose Harvard Stadium for their historical importance.
