Am I eligible for new free childcare scheme – and how to apply?

Millions of parents in the UK will be able to access 30 hours of free child care per week on Monday, as a state -supported plan has been expanded.

Working parents of children between the ages of nine months and four are now suitable for 30 hours. This is only three to four years of age and 15 hours for all other children.

The government said the plan will save an average of £ 7,500 per year for working parents.

Training Secretary Bridget Phillipson said: “It is my number one priority to make the best start to each child in life, so we offer our commitment to providing early education financed by 30 hours of state.

“Whether it wants to save up to £ 7,500 a year, to support the reduction of the pressure on the grandmother and grandfather, who should go back to work or get into often in, are common.”

Here is everything that parents should know:

How to apply for free child care

To apply, they must create an account with the training department using an online form that takes about 20 minutes to complete the parents.

They will need national insurance numbers or unique taxpayers references (if they are self -employed). They will also need the birth certificate of the child or children they apply for.

Parents can apply as of 23 weeks old. Compliance should be approved every three months for each school period.

The deadline for child care from nine months depends on when the child was born:

  • If your child is nine months old between September 1 and December 31, free hours can be requested as of January 1st and the deadline for application December 31.
  • If your child is nine months between September 1 and March 31, free hours can be requested from April 1st and deadline deadline March 31.
  • If your child is nine months between April 1 and August 31, free hours can be requested from September 1st and deadline deadline 31 August.

In most cases, missing the deadline for application will mean three months of missing child care, so it is recommended that parents apply on time.

Is everyone suitable for free child care?

Compliance depends on various factors, including income and immigration status, whether the parent (s) works.

Although most of the working parents can get free children care, there is a minimum threshold of earnings to be met.

For the next three months, at least one of the parents:

  • £ 2,539.68 before the tax if there is 21 years and older (equivalent to £ 195.36 per week)
  • £ 2.080 before tax between 18-20 years of age (equivalent to £ 160 per week)
  • Under the age of 18 or an apprentice or an apprentice (equivalent to £ 120,80 per week) £ 1,570,40 before tax

Those who earn irregular income throughout the year can use how much they expect to earn during the current tax year.

Most importantly, those who do not work at the moment are not largely suitable for new free child care. This includes universal credit plaintiffs, except for some exceptions.

If the incapacity benefit, serious blocking allowance, the assignment of the caregiver, limited ability or contribution -based employment and support allowance do not work, it will still be appropriate.

Only for couples earned by a partner on the threshold, they will still be suitable for free child care for their children.

What options are available for inappropriate parents?

For those who do not meet the conformity criteria for free child care, the first thing to consider is that they still have the right to have a reduced authority.

Three to four years of age in the UK can also get 570 free hours a year. This is usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year.

This should be an approved child care provider and stops when the child starts in the reception class.

Parents who claim the universal loan should pay for other child care costs, but can be repaid to 85 percent of child care costs.

Maximum amount for each evaluation period (about one month):

  • 1,031,88 £ for a child
  • £ 1,768,94 for two or more children

It is important to state that child care fees should be paid in advance and then the Ministry of Labor and Pension that will repay the required amount. Those in need of assistance may apply through online universal credit accounts or by asking the working coaches.

Although it is a good news for the expansion parents, many nurseries warned that they are fighting to find enough staff to deal with increasing demand.
