Driver charged after hit-and-run crash that killed two children on e-scooter

A driver was accused of not stopping in a deadly accident that killed a man and his sister, a driver, an e-SCOOTER.
16 -year -old novel Casselden and nine -year -old Darcie Casselden died on February 1 at the scene in Ashlyns in Pitsea, Essex.
Essex police said on Tuesday that 21 -year -old woman Deimante Ziobryte was accused of not stopping in a collision of a car’s driver.
The force said that Ziobryte, which was given in a court document as Merrivle in Benfleet, had appeared before the Basildon Magistrate Court on 28 August.
The police said he would go to the same court on January 8, 2026.
Force said in a statement, Ziobryte’nin “other driving crimes in connection with bail and our investigation into them continues,” he said.
“At that time, a man arrested was told that he had not encountered any other action,” he added.
An investigation into two deaths opened and suspended earlier this year, waiting for the outcome of the police investigation, heard that both brothers died of a traumatic head trauma.
Coroner Michelle Brown, which was opened separately in Chelmsford in Chelmsford, said that the brothers are “traveling on an e-SCOOTER”.
E-SCOOTER said that “Ashlyns approaching Stokefelde is involved in a collision with a motor vehicle to the east”.
Coroner said that emergency services participated and Darcie died at 19.10 and that the Roman at 19.50.
