Dance teacher jailed for ‘brazen’ sex assault on 14yo

A former dance teacher has been imprisoned for at least two years during the “brazen” sexual assault of his 14 -year -old student.

Bruce Lawrence Henries was 50 years older than the young person who was sexually assaulted in 2004.

He was driving his house from a dance class, where he hired him to serve as a dolambaç teacher.

Henries took his daughter Sydney’s home in the west of his old mother, and sexually attacked him in a grandmother’s apartment on the property.

In a panic call to another dance teacher, Henries then asked the young person to ask if he was pregnant.

The court came after Henries attacked him many times.

NSW Regional Court judge David Arnott said the “important age gap” and his confidence in his authority as an adult, contributed to the seriousness of his crime at a time when Henries was trusted.

The judge said, “The crime was opportunistic, brazen and determined to satisfy sexual satisfaction.” He said.

Henries was accused of sexual and immoral attacks in June 2024 twenty years ago.

He rejected it and questioned why he would “go after me” after 20 years, but finally he was found guilty.

He told the court that the “betrayal” of the young man has exceeded the love of dance.

He was treated for years with his own cost to manage the impact of his crimes and found it difficult to establish and maintain close relationships.

The woman cannot be defined for legal reasons.

85 -year -old Henries was sentenced to two years in prison on Friday, when he was custody in April.

The full penalty for three years and three months ends in July 2028.
