National awards for two Hyderabad professors

Bits Pilani Professor Sanket Goel and IIT-H’s Vineeth N. Balasubramanian, on Friday, received a national award (NAT) for teachers to recognize the excellence in teaching, innovation, social assistance and research from President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi.

They are among the 45 award -winning teachers.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present. Previously, the award winners met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mr. Goel presides the Micro/Nano materials in Bits-Pilani and the nanoelectronic (MMNE) laboratory and guides research on laboratory systems, biosensors, flexible electronics and microacreans on the chip.

Balasubramanian’s research includes explanatory artificial intelligence, robust machine learning and multimodal vision language models applied as agriculture, drone imaging, autonomous navigation and behavioral artificial intelligence.
