Army Chief stresses the need for technological edge to stay ahead of rivals

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Ordu President General Upndra Dwivedi underlined the need to constantly upgrade technological to stay in front of competitors and stressed that self -confidence will play an important role in achieving this goal.

“Goalposts will continue to change. If I wanted to shoot at 100 kilometers, it has to go to 300 kilometers tomorrow. Not only me but also the competitor who improves technology. As the technology increases, I should be sure that my technological level is ready to exceed the effect.

In the 52nd National Management Agreement organized by the All-India Management Association (AIMA), he presented the opening speech on ‘Inter-field hybrid leadership: necessary for national growth and security’. The activity is the theme of global tendencies and future strategies: flexibility and adaptability in a changing world.

Mobile ecosystem

Emphasizing the operational experience of the army, Gen Dwivededi explained that power effectively uses long -range rockets, missiles, UAV, UCAVS and Loitering ammunition in recent conflicts. “We know that UCAVs are used by Pakistan from Türkiye and China. Of course we have their own answer,” he added.

During the Sindoor operation, the army announced that the Sambhav (Secure Army Mobile Bharat version) was developed indigenously.

Army Chief, “We are ready to accept the spiral development of equipment. Sambhav phones were used for command and communication Sindoor operation. We did not use WhatsApp or others. At one time, there was a common operational and intelligence picture for all commanders on the same platform. Now we are raising it to a higher level.”

Gen Dwivededi, who explained the Sindoor Operation, said, “The merger of soldiers to commanders, scientists, great policy makers; the necessary actions taken in a preventive way… It was a whole approach of the nation”.

“Loiter ammunition, we are currently looking at the range of 100 to 150 km, but as things go on, we look at the flock drones and flocks of loitering ammunition in the range of 750 km. We want to raise the missiles we have today,” he added.
