September 11, 2025 18:32 | News

One of the most successful technology entrepreneurs in Australia says that business and government leaders should learn and adopt artificial intelligence or will be left behind.

Scott Farquhar, the co -founder of Atlassian, who resigned as the co -CEO of the cooperation platform a year ago, says that AI has already created a “great global shift”.

“Every day changes how we live as a consumer”, many people are looking for products and services that use tools like chatgpt, Mr. Farquuhar said on Thursday to Paytes Giant Strepe’s annual conference in Sydney.

For companies, “There is nothing special for every industry, but it sounds like one of these technologies, if you do not adopt quickly, unfortunately you will be broken by someone.”

Mr. Farquhar said that everyone at the highest level of work and government should use AI daily, even if it may seem less productive at first than other methods.

“Writing touch is a new skill that you need to use as it feels less productive than writing a card when you use a typewriter or keyboard,” he said.

“This is a new skill you need to learn.”

And for new graduates or those in the technology industry, “AI has this opportunity to change everything we do, and it’s a really exciting time to be involved in creating it.”

Mr. Farquar said that he had three goals for the first year except Atassian: his family had to spend more time and stay in the form with his “aggressive holiday ve and succeeded in each of them.

He studied for an Ironman triathlon in Germany, went to places like Bhutan and Patagonia and spent one -on -one with each of his three sons.

With an estimated net value of 10 billion dollars (A15 billion dollars), Mr. Farquuhar said globally more than 20,000 companies in question and sacrificed over $ 3 billion ($ 4.5 billion).

Im I do not encourage everyone here, if you are at the beginning or if you know a founder yourself or if you have an effect on a start, just encourage it to take this promise, ”he said.
