Married doctor admits to having sex with nurse while patient was under anaesthetic

He heard a medical court, a married doctor, underwent a nurse in the operating room with a nurse.

44 -year -old Dr Suhail Anjum and anonymous nurse walked in a couple by a “shock ör in a hospital in Greater Manchester.

The advisor had asked another nursing colleague to follow the male patient to half to take a comfortable break.

Instead, Dr Anjum went to another operating room at the Tameide Hospital in Ashton-Under-Lyne, where he had sex with a nurse C.

Andrew Molloy, representing the General Medical Council (GMC), said Dr. Anjum was an anesthetic for five cases in five theater on September 16, 2013 and left the room in the third case.

Shortly thereafter, a nurse said that NT entered eight theaters and said, “Dr Anjum and Nurse C is in a conciliatory position.”

Mr. Molloy said: “When the nurse exhibited C with her pants around the knee, and Dr Anjum’s pants were in the process of tying the cable.

“The nurse NT was shocked and quickly walked from the theater to the exit gates. Dr angum returned to the fifth theater and went back to about eight minutes.

“It is right to say that the patient has no harm and the procedure continued without any more incidents when the anjum is not in the theater.”

The nurse said NT continues to inform the line manager.

Before the lawsuit was opened by GMC, Dr. Angum said that he did not object to the realities of the case and that he agreed to take sexual activity with the nurse C and knew that he was “close” when he left his patient.

He also admitted that his actions had the potential to risk his patient.

Dr. Anjum said that the Medical Applicants Court (MPTS) had left the Tameide Hospital in February 2024 and has heard that he had returned to domestic Pakistan since then.

However, he said he wanted to continue his career in the UK and that he had promised that the “one -time judicial error” would not be repeated.

Providing evidence. Angum said, “At least it was quite embarrassing to say. I will only blame myself.

“I disappointed everyone, not just my patient and myself, but trust and how it will look.

“I disappointed my colleagues who respect me.”

The anesthetics said that it was “unfair ve and the nurse NT put NT in a strange position.

He continued: “But most importantly, the patient. If my doctor had gone without telling me… This is dividing me into pieces every day.

“I have always set very high standards for myself because it is my passion. I don’t know how and why, but I wish I could reverse it.

“I apologize to everyone about it and I want the opportunity to do it right.”

Dr Anjum said that the incident took place in January 2023 during a “stressful time” for his family after the birth of his youngest child.

He said: “Our daughter was born prematurely with a very low birth weight.

“My wife made a very traumatic delivery, it was a very stressful experience. During this time we couldn’t connect as a couple.

“My personal life, my mental health and my welfare and my work in the hospital has caused damage.”

The hearing in Manchester continues on Friday when the panel will hear applications as to whether the suitability of Dr Anjum on the application is broken due to abuse.
