KMRL to prepare DPR for Water Metro project in Mumbai

Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) won the contract to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed water metro service modeled at Kochi Water Metro in Mumbai.
According to a release published here, the contract worth approximately 4.4 Crore was given by the Maharashtra government with a competitive tender process.
KMRL’s consultancy wing had previously conducted a feasibility study for water subway service in the Mumbai Metropol region. The proposed network includes important water bodies such as Vaitarna, Vasai, Manori, Than, Panvel and Karanja. The version summarizes a 250 km waterway network with 29 terminals and 10 routes.
