Cathy Freeman returns to Olympic stadium 25 years on as first inductee into hall of fame
Louise Sauvage, the Paralympic Gold Medal and twice Sydney Paralympic Gold Medal, was the only female inductor who went to the Honor List. NSW was honored by Premier Chris Minns: “Louise burned Alevi in Paralympics like Cathy, and then won gold under extreme pressure, and the whole nation cheered it.”
Ian Thorpe, who won three gold medals in Sydney and Tim Sullivan, who won half of the 10 paralympic gold medals in 2000, joins Freeman and Sauvage as an inductor from Sydney 2000 games.

On Monday night, six athletes from other sports codes with a special connection with the Olympic Stadium were included: Socceroos legends John Aloisi and Mark Schwarzer, Rugby League Greats Brad Fittler and former Wallabies captain John Eales and former England five-Eight Jonny Wilkinson Jonny started against Wilkinson.

10 inductor was selected by a panel of journalists, publishers and sports managers, which will be added in 2027, 2029 and 2031.
NSW Sports and Tourism Minister Steve Kamper, “Stadium Australian Honor List, Sydney’s Olympic Games with the opening ceremony of the world since the illumination of the world is a suitable tribute,” he said.
Beyond the best Olympic Games so far, this incredible stadium has hosted very iconic moments.
“Legends like Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler, the largest two playing Rugby League, together with the Wallabies icons John Eales and Jonny Wilkinson, a great way to celebrate the history of the game and the legacy of this big stadium.”
Other important figures, including General David Richmond, Director of Sydney Games Organization Committee, General David Richmond, former Olympic Minister Michael Knight, and Rod McGeoch, were honored.
