Eye drops could replace reading glasses

Glasses can soon be old – after scientists have revealed that a simple eye drop course can return to close vision clearly.
Hundreds of millions of people around the world suffer from presbyopia – a situation in which eyes are struggling to focus on objects and focus on rapprochement.
The problem is usually treated with reading glasses or surgery, but many find glasses disturbing and surgery is not always an option.
A 766 -person study presented at the European Cataract and Breaking Surgeons Association in Copenhagen (ESCR) showed that he could read extra lines on the eye test graphics after using the drops of the majority during the weekend.
Now experts say that drops containing pilocarpin, a drug containing the muscle that controls the shape of the eye lens to allow students to narrow students and to focus on objects at different distances, can provide a breakthrough.
Leading the research. Giovanna Benozzi explained: “Our most important result showed rapid and continuous improvements in close views for three concentrations. One hour after the first drops, the patients had an average of 3.45 Jaeger.”
The JAEGER scale is the measurement that doctors used to test the visual acuity – and the development was striking.
The treatment not only helps to read, but also sharpened focus on all distances, which made daily life much easier for those with presbyopia.
Benozzi added: “In an impressive way, 99 percent of 148 patients in a pilocarpine group on the face reached optimal close views and were able to read two or more extra lines.”
If it is approved for wider use, drops can convert eye care and save millions of difficulty for glasses that they need to check a menu or read a text.
