Charlie Kirk backed Russian invasion of Ukraine, annexation of Crimea; called Zelenskyy a CIA puppet, gets a makeshift memorial in Moscow

For the American conservative activist Charlie Kirk and Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, a makeshift monument containing portraits, flowers and candles appeared on September 17, 2025 outside the US Embassy in Moscow.

Kirk, a loyal ally of US President Donald Trump and the founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated at a university in Utah at the beginning of this month. Zarutska fled from Ukraine due to the ongoing Russian invasion and tragically stabbed on the North Carolina train in August 2025.

Located in the heart of Moscow, the monument carried a translated proposal attributed to Kirk: “Crimea was always a part of Russia. Never delivered.” In many cases, Kirk reflected Russia’s support in Ukraine in the midst of heated geopolitical conflicts.

Kirk’s harmony with the narratives of Kremlin was a decisive factor in his political stance. He clearly supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, opposed us to help Kiev, and framed the annexation of the Crimea legitimate and irreversible. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will serve as the CIA puppet that directs his own people with an unnecessary massacre, and he went so far enough to accuse him of deceiving and violence for financial gain and violence.

In addition to its wide international consensus, its views condemned its conservative allies, such as the President, as Russia’s violation of the sovereignty of Ukraine.

Near Monument is a pro -Kremlin nationalist group National Liberation Movement Protesters shaking flag and II. He performed an anti -American demonstration with World War II symbols. It was claimed that the rally called us the “Day of the suppressed peoples of the United States” by linking historical complaints to contemporary political narratives. It was unclear whether the monument and the show would be coordinated, but both events reflecting the efforts of the Kremlin’s assassination of Kirk as a political symbol and criticizing American policies.
The use of Zarutska’s image in the monument was seen by many as a cynical exhibition in the midst of the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia’s occupation.

Kirk’s vocal support for Russian invasion, opposition to Western aid for Ukraine and the shrinkage of Zelenskyy as Western puppet clearly supported the perspectives of a separatist figure in American politics and a rare Western voice.
