Historical Appointment and Gender Equality
Prime Minister Modi also extended his congratulations to Sushila Carki, calling him the “example of the strengthening of women” and welcomed him as the first woman to chair the Nepal government. The appointment comes to the widespread “Gen Z” protests that lasted for weeks that have reduced the KP Sharma Oli government.
Nepal’s political turmoil and gene protests
Sushila Carki was swore by President Ramchandra Paudel during the Sheetal Niwas ceremony. The appointment follows a period of mass restlessness that is triggered by a temporary prohibition on social media, which rapidly rises to the anti-nepotism and political anti-Elit uprising throughout the country.
