Vital clue to location of Cleopatra’s tomb may have been found after 20 year search | World | News

An archaeologist from the Dominican Republic thinks that he may have found the region of Cleopatra’s grave. Kathleen Martínez started his professional career as a guilty lawyer, but packaged to follow his passion for archeology.
For twenty years, he called the tomb of the famous Egyptian queen, and by many experts, he believed that the country was the last Pharaoh and Ptolemaic ruler. His task took him to Taposiris Magna, a temple that was overlooked about 30 miles west of Alexandria in Borg El Arab, Egyptian coastal town. He and his team believe that Cleopatra might have discovered a vital clue for where the grave was, and probably solved a mystery of 2,000 years.
Archaeologists say they set a sunken harbor in the depths of the Mediterranean. His discoveries show that Taposiris Magna is not only an important religious center, but also a maritime trade center, and that it is much wider than anyone else.
“This makes the temple really important,” said Mrs. Martínez Website National Geographic. “There were all the conditions to be chosen for Cleopatra to be buried with Mark Antony,” he added enthusiastically.
Ms. Martinez and her team revealed a work and structures in the ruins of Taposiris Magna, which was based on the reign of Cleopatra in 2022.
In addition, they faced ceramic jars and ceramic from the moment of Ptolemia and a 4,300 -meter tunnel.
The former lawyer said two findings together, “the port was active in Cleopatra time and at the beginning of the dynasty.”
Queen Cleopatra VII.
Ms. Martinez described her as a “extraordinary” character that helps to redefine women’s role. “He was a philosopher. He was a doctor in medicine. He was a chemist. He was a cosmetologist.”
After Caesar’s assassination, he had a eleven -year passionate relationship with Mark Anthony, and both of them committed suicide after his military defeat to his rival Roman ruler Octavian.
Ms. Martinez believes that Cleopatra wants to find a secret place safe from the Romans for her body and lover.
“Mark Antony had to choose a place where he could feel safe for his other world, Mart says Martínez.
He thought of all possible temples that the queen could reach from Alexandria in a day. As a result, he narrowed his research to Taposiris Magna and started his team searches in October 2005.
