Taylor Swift’s special jetine orange paint, two oil activists, two aircraft was found guilty of criminal damage.
29 -year -old Jennifer Kowalski and 23 -year -old Cole Macdonald violated the environment fence at the Stansted Airport in Stansted Airport with an angle grinder, and then sprayed with two planes and films.
The trials at Chelmsford Crown Court were told that they were targeted by the jet of the pop star, but two aircraft they sprayed belonged to an insurance company and an investment group.
Kowalski from Dumbarton in Scotland and East Sussex, Macdonald from Brighton, said they did not intend to harm two planes last year last year, but both were found guilty of criminal damage.
The jury members unanimously negotiated less than two hours to reach their decisions.
Judge Alexander Mills said that Kowalski was not “disagreement ve and Macdonald caused damage and sprayed with an orange paint from a fire extinguisher.
David Barr said in his closing speech to the members of the jury: “The only problem for you to decide, what is going on from the minds of these defendants when they spray on the plane.
“Did they intend to damage or were reckless about whether the damage would be.”
The lawyer’s defender Laura O’Brien said he believes that Kowalski could come out of the planes.
For Macdonald, Rebecca Martin said: ında Because he said, (paint) would not stick to the plane, stained or eroded.
“He believed that he’d shift so much to him.”
The judge asked for the preparation of the pre -sentence reports about the two defendants and added: “Of course they will be reports before all options.”
He saved both defendants when they could condemn Chelmsford Crown Court until October 27th.
Laura O’Brien, a partner of Hodge Jones & Allen, who represented both defendants and also represented Kowalski in court, said, “Both customers wanted to cause discussion in the climate crisis and had no intention of causing crime damage or disrupting the airport.
“All they were trying to achieve was to draw Taylor Swift’s speech about the climate crisis, to draw attention to the climate crisis and to emphasize that the singer frequently uses his special jet.
“It is time for the government to focus on the climate crisis that threatens our existence instead of wasting a peaceful protest and not threatening the people instead of wasting the money of taxpayers.”
