Texas A&M President Mark A. Welsh III to step down after a week of turmoil over viral classroom video

“It is unacceptable to reject the indecision on the subject and the rejection of the student’s concerns next to the professor,” Patrick said last week. “Most of the parents, students and AGGI graduates expect Texas A & M to reflect the values of our state and our nation and the rich history of A & M. If the President Galce cannot reflect or reflect these values, the change must take place.”
In his statement on Thursday, Chancellor praised Glenn Hegar Galce, but seemed to accept a change.

Hegar later added that Welsh had submitted his resignation to him on Thursday. Galce was not immediately available for comment.
The separation of Welsh comes in the midst of a wider campaign to tighten the control of the Republican leaders’ curriculum, to tighten the recruitment and speech at the state universities of the state.

On Thursday, Harrison received a loan for the departure of Welsh in an interview with Texas Tribune and claimed that the ongoing publication of the social media platform X contributed to the resignation of Galce. Harrison said that others were encouraged to use traditional channels to complain about the performance of Wales, but that his wife’s unprecedented methods work more effectively and proved to be “the most effective deputy in the Texas Legislative Assembly”.
“If I had done what each of my critics tried to do me, Welsh would still be president today, McCoul will still be a professor and I can guarantee that the dean and the head of the department will still be administrative duties.” He said. “Instead, in a week, you saw everything I caused in a week by doing the way I believe in Texans.”
Robert Albritton, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stressed that Regents did not listen to foreign political figures and media pressure.
“I will say something great about the throne, we don’t listen to it,” Albritton said.
He also argued that McCoul’s class “breaks the law”, but did not specify which law.
On Wednesday, he sent letters to the senior faculty members and the university’s student government Hegar and the regents board supporting Welsh.
The university of Texas A & M, consisting of 12 distinguished professors, was signed by the Executive Committee of the distinguished professors and the highest success of a faculty member at the university.
“All members of this committee write this letter collectively to strongly recommend you to protect President Mark Welsh after the latest events,” he says.
