A 51yo man allegedly fired arrows into a Melbourne schoolyard

A man has allegedly been shooting arrows into the grounds of a special needs school in Melbourne for the past three months.

Police allege a 51-year-old man has been firing sporadic volleys into the grounds of Glenroy Specialist School in Hilton St since August.

The school is located in Melbourne’s north-west and caters for children with physical or multiple disabilities or complex health needs.

A police spokesman said no one was injured in the incidents and claimed the incidents were not targeted at anyone in particular.

Detectives raided a home in Trevannion Street, Glenroy, on Thursday and arrested the man.

Police claimed to have found a bow, arrows, ball bearings and a slingshot while searching the property.

The man was charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, launching a missile and causing intentional damage.

He was granted bail and is expected to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on April 15.
