A century of iconic moments in Wimbledon’s Royal Box: How 74-seat enclave of Centre Court has hosted ex-competitor George VI, a smoking Princess Margaret and some VERY racy celebs
For more than a century, the presence of their guests has been a distraction of attention than the main event should be: tennis.
However, considering that the royal box in Wimbledon hosts everyone who is important from the ruler to down, this is not a surprise.
Since it was opened in 1922, the Central Court of 74 has been an environment for moments that lived in national memory for a long time.
The box was a favorite destination for Princess Diana, at least in 1991, her eldest son, Prince William, confused the country.
