Telethon 2025: Free family fun at Yagan Square this weekend as part of the annual Telethon Family Festival

Perth city center will shift gears this weekend as thousands of families flock to Wellington Street and Yagan Square for the annual Telethon Family Festival.

While the festival’s footprint extends from the RAC Arena to Yagan Square, it is located inside the Square, where little music lovers can attend free dance workshops or have fun at the silent disco from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

For kids who’ve forgotten their dancing shoes, there’ll be plenty of room at the Yagan Square imagination playground, or they can line up for the chance to act as a 7NEWS reporter.

In keeping with the spirit of inclusivity that defines the Telethon, Yagan Square will also feature a sensory-friendly cooling zone, a peaceful space for families needing a break from the high-energy festivities.

Minister for Planning and Lands and Perth MLA John Carey said Yagan Square’s role in the festival demonstrated the success of revitalizing it and the importance of bringing the community to the heart of the city.

“Telethon is a great Western Australian institution that has been helping to improve the lives of countless children across the state for decades,” he said.

Families will enjoy treats at Yagan Square as well as carnival rides, fairy floss, face painting, popcorn, animal encounters and more along Wellington Street.

One of the most important public events tied to the Telethon broadcast, the Family Festival continues to be a place where people of all ages come together to support the health of sick children across the state.

Last year’s Telethon raised a record-breaking $83.3 million, and already gaining momentum, organizers are hopeful 2025 will be just as impactful.
