Wayne Lineker names the best and worst celebrities to visit O Beach Ibiza and admits one was thrown out ‘three times in one day’ – as he embraces sobriety after secret spell in rehab

Blistering house music, free-flowing drinks and breathtaking views of San Antonio bay have transformed this place into a ’30s Balearic Islands bucket list destination.
That could just be O Beach Ibiza, the raucous open-air day club launched in 2012 by entrepreneur Wayne Lineker, brother of former footballer Gary.
Lineker, 63, who has now returned to the UK after giving up his life on the Spanish islands, recently confirmed his sobriety after undergoing treatment and opened up about his best and worst experiences as owner of the iconic venue in a series of social media posts.
Participating in a Q&A with his followers on Monday, the club owner answered a series of questions: When will you drink again? O Beach’s funniest memory? — before a follower asked her to name her best and worst celebrity guests.
‘Well, the best person or most famous person ever is Ed Sheeran and he just randomly sang on stage that day too. “I will never forget this,” he told his followers.
Recalling the worst, Lineker admitted TV star Scott Thomas, older brother of Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, took the crown – and for good reason.
Wayne Lineker has revealed the best and worst celebrities who have visited legendary day club O Beach Ibiza since it opened in 2012.
Lineker claimed TV star Scott Thomas was “not the worst, but the naughtiest and funniest” – and for good reason
‘He is the only person to have been kicked off O Beach three times in one day and that is an incredible achievement,’ he said.
‘How he got back the other two times without anyone seeing him I’ll never know.’
He added: ‘He’s sober now and a good friend of mine. I don’t think this record will ever be broken.
‘Congratulations Scott, you are a legend forever. Your name will go down in history.’
The famous party man announced last month that he had been sober for two months after secretly checking into rehab earlier this year.
Lineker admitted that it was no longer possible to stay in Ibiza while maintaining a sober lifestyle and decided to leave the island and his club on the grounds that he ‘needed some more time to recover’.
Sharing the news of his departure in October, he posted a picture of himself at O Beach with the accompanying caption: ‘So I made the decision to leave Ibiza this morning before the island won again.. Living my former Ibiza lifestyle is now impossible for me.
‘Walking to the Ocean is very different for me now that I’m sober. Honestly, I thought I could handle it, but I found myself a bit miserable – hiding out in the restaurant or leaving early, which is definitely not my character.

‘It’s also very difficult to be the center of attention for all these people, shall we say “very joyful”?.. the music, the sunshine, the shows, the dancers, the ambiance, the venue, the orange cups in the air surrounded by bikinis for what seems like an eternity make it very, very difficult.’
He added: ‘In rehabilitation therapists talk about triggers, which basically means environments, places, certain people, events, etc. that will lead to temptation. It means staying away – and let’s face it, there is no greater trigger in the world for me than the Ocean.
‘I hope that one day I will find a new version of myself, able to step back into the beating heart of Ibiza. But for now, I need a little more time to heal… and that’s what healing means.
‘If there’s anyone out there reading this who’s in a similar situation, that’s okay, you can face your demons. Get yourself help.. going to rehab was the best decision of my life!’
Discussing his next steps, Lineker revealed that he would be returning to the facility where he was rehabbed to record a podcast about his journey.
He said: ‘I’ll be back at Priory Life Works @priorygroup next week and doing an interview/podcast with the production team, Priory Life Works Surrey; I spent 6 weeks in recovery here to do an exclusive interview and tell my story, the journey I walked, how rehab changed my life and ultimately kept me alive.’
Sharing the news of his departure, Lineker shared a photo taken at O Beach and wrote: “This morning, I decided to leave Ibiza before regaining the island.”
