A two-tiered cake and a groom-bride playlist for Albanese wedding
Anthony Albanese and his bride, Jodie Haydon, celebrated their marriage with a two-tiered wedding cake and a music playlist to suit the happy couple’s tastes.
A day after the first wedding of a sitting prime minister in office, details are beginning to emerge of the event, which took place in the gardens of The Lodge in Canberra.

Canberran Finance Minister Katy Gallagher, one of 40 guests at the event, said on Sunday that Albanese, Haydon, their parents and the prime minister’s son Nathan spoke before the cake cutting, one of the most important elements of the wedding.
“I didn’t have a cake, I’m not a cake fan, but it was a two-tiered wedding cake,” he said.
“It was very impressive and they both made their speeches right before cutting the cake.”
Gallagher claimed he was not a dancer, but said there was a dance floor and music to suit the bride and groom’s tastes.
“There was definitely a dance floor and there was music, yes, and as anyone who knows the Prime Minister and Jodie, they both love music,” he said.
“It’s one of the things they shared together, and yes, there was some very special music.
“It was a lovely night, a lovely day, a lovely afternoon and the Prime Minister and Jodie are thrilled with how everything went and I hope they are resting this morning.”
