AAP MP Ashok Mittal calls for boycott of U.S. soft drink companies at LPU over tariff hike

AAM AADMI Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha Deputy ASHOK Kumar Mittal said on Saturday, August 23, 2025, if the 50% tariff march in Indian goods entered into force on 27 August, all non -alcoholic beverages and beverages of the United States will be banned from Punjab’s beautiful professional university campus in Jalandar.

“Why not a boycott? As a citizen of India, as a businessman from Punjab, I think that the movement is absolutely right as LPU’s founder and parliamentary member.

Previously, Mr. Mittal wrote an open letter to US President Donald J. Trump on August 7, and described the tariff hike as ‘unfair’ and destructive.

Mr. Trump called on to take the decision back and return to the principles of dialogue, not dictators. “What if he starts a strategic restriction of 146 Crore Indian US enterprises?”
