Deepinder Goyal’s Temple is hiring multiple engineers, but conditions apply — ‘Only people who…’
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal said on Friday that his company Temple, which makes an experimental fitness tracker of the same name, is hiring for multiple positions. However, there were some conditions that had to be met in order to apply for job postings.
Goyal, who was seen wearing the Temple device on the side of his forehead during a podcast and made a big splash on the internet at the time, said in a post about X that his company hired engineers, researchers and product managers to perfect the wearable device.
“At Temple, we produce the ultimate wearable device for elite performance athletes. A device that measures what no other wearable device in the world can measure with a precision that does not yet exist,” said Goyal.
“To build this, we need people who are obsessed with both the craft and the category. Engineers who are also athletes. We need people who will wear what they make and hate it until it’s perfect,” he added.
What positions are open for hiring at Temple?
Deepinder Goyal listed the vacant positions in Temple. While most are engineering roles, the company also needs researchers and product managers. Here is the list —

- Sensor Algorithms Engineers – prediction theory, sensor fusion
- Deep Learning Engineers — ML model development for physiological measurements
- Computational Neuroscientists
- BCI Engineers — real-time EEG/EMG acquisition and processing
- Neural Decoding Researchers – brain activity to semantic mapping
- Computer Vision Engineers — facial microexpression, subsonic muscle detection
- Neuroimaging ML Engineers — multimodal sensor fusion
- Product managers working through Figma without needing a designer to hold their hand
Conditions apply
Writing further, Eternal’s founder said there are certain requirements for applying for roles because Temple needs engineers who are also athletes.
“It’s important; we build for people who push their bodies to the extreme. We want to be those people, not just serve them. So only people who are serious about fitness and have <16% (men) and 26% (women) body fat should apply," Goyal said.
However, those who do not fit the category but promise to be fit within three months can also apply.
“If you are not there yet but you are committed to getting there within three months, you can also apply; but you will be on probation until you arrive,” he said.

What is a temple?
Temple is an experimental device designed to continuously measure blood flow in the brain in real time.
The small, gold or silver sensor is worn near the temple of the head. It monitors blood flow to the brain, an important indicator of neurological health and aging.
The device has come under criticism from experts and doctors in India as it has been reported that it is not reliable enough.
