Marc Beckman, senior advisor to First Lady Melania Trump, is calling on late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s advertisers to boycott the show after his “widow-in-waiting” joke directed at the First Lady.
Marc Beckman said, “Why would ABC stand behind this? That’s the question. And why do advertisers for Kimmel’s show stick with it, not just for the ABC brand?” he said. “That’s a little weird.”
The First Lady called out Kimmel for his “hateful and violent rhetoric” after calling him a “waiting widow” after parodying the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner days before the assassination attempt. Kimmel defended his skit and said it was a joke about the age difference, not a call for assassination.
While Beckman was selective in the First Lady’s words, he said, “Kimmel should be fired. ABC should terminate his employment.”

The first lady criticized Kimmel in an X post on Monday, calling him a “coward” and calling on ABC to “take a stand.”
“His monologue about my family is not comedy; his words are corrosive and deepen the political sickness in America. People like Kimmel should not have the opportunity to break into our homes every night to spread hate,” he wrote.
Beckman, CEO of advertising agency DMA United, said that from his perspective, “this is not about free speech, it’s about branding.”
“Why would ABC and parent company Disney want to connect with a person who breaks into our homes, America’s homes, every night? [in] “We’re spreading such divisive, vile political rhetoric into our living rooms and our bedrooms,” he added. “This isn’t going anywhere.”
Beckman quoted from reports Wall Street Magazine The report analyzing terrorist incidents compiled by the Center for Strategic and International Studies shows that in 2025 the number of left-wing terrorist attacks and plots will outnumber right-wing attacks for the first time in more than 30 years.

“The amount of political violence, physical political violence, is higher from left to right,” Beckman said. “The trend is that there is more political violence from left to right than from right to left.”
He says that the First Lady is always careful, monitors everything and at the same time remains one of the hardest working people.

“He pays attention to what people say in the media, but he doesn’t care that much. I think what he’s focused on is how he can continue to create great success for the country,” Beckman said.

Kimmel faced backlash last year over the murder of Charlie Kirk, when critics said he misidentified the suspect and politicized the case. The ABC presenter was briefly suspended from the airwaves before later returning and apologizing.
The First Lady recently used her position to expand children’s access to technology and education, inviting 45 countries to the inaugural “Promoting the Future Together” global summit in March.

“So what is she focused on? She’s focused on American children, American families, taking care of the nation as First Lady. She’s really not going to care about all the gossip and lies and insinuations,” Beckman added.
Fox News Digital reached out to ABC and Kimmel representatives but did not immediately hear back.
