Ukrainian President Zelensky reacted to the Trump -Alaska Summit and stressed that Ukraine should be included in peace talks. It will meet Trump in Washington to get stronger international support and force security guarantees.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke to US President Donald Trump after the Trump -sub -Summit in Alaska ended without a cease -fire or peace agreement.
Zelensky said that his call was “long and fundamental. Trump briefly summarized the main points of his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky then explained: “On Monday, I will meet with President Trump at Washington DC to discuss all the details about killing and ending the war. I am grateful for the invitation.”
Zelensky on social media, Europe’s long -term security of Ukraine should take place, he said.
Official reactions showed that Trump should approve of any agreement of Ukraine, implying land swaps and security guarantees, but no agreement has been completed.
In the meantime, Zelensky stressed that any peace meeting should directly contain Ukraine. He rejected the discussions that excluded Kiev and warned Ukraine against extinguishing in decisions about his future.
Zelensky also supported Trump’s three -way summit proposal with Ukraine, the United States and Russia. He said that such a format would allow leaders to handle the key problems directly and will help Europe’s security guarantees.
The summit itself did not make any ceasefire or peace agreements, but Trump described it as “productive”.
Meanwhile, Zelensky’s approach to Washington is seen as an important step by experts to coordinate more powerful international support to Ukraine.
