He was MSNBC’s golden goose until his story no longer fit the network’s preferred narrative.

President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, was a frequent guest on MSNBC for years when he was a key member of the #Resistance. But the liberal network, now called MS NOW, omitted her stunning admission that she felt “pressured and pressured” to testify that would help secure a conviction against the president.

Cohen, a key prosecution witness in two cases against Trump in New York, accused New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on Friday of pursuing evidence clearly aimed at catching Trump. In a Substack post, he claimed that prosecutors in both offices were not interested in testimony that did not fit their narrative.

“Throughout the time I spent with prosecutors, both in preparation for and during the hearings, it was clear that they were only interested in testimony that would enable them to convict President Trump,” Cohen wrote. “When my testimony fell short of a point the prosecution was trying to make, prosecutors often asked inappropriate leading questions to elicit answers that supported their narrative.”

“I experienced a similar dynamic in the Attorney General’s civil case,” Cohen continued. “Letitia James publicly announced during her 2018 campaign for attorney general that she would go after President Trump if elected. Her office made it clear that the testimony they wanted from me was testimony that would help them do just that. Once again, I felt compelled to deliver what they were looking for.”

Cohen has long been a fixture on MSNBC, which changed its name late last year and has frequently appeared in anti-Trump commentary over the past five years on such shows as “The Beat with Ari Melber,” “The Rachel Maddow Show,” “Inside with Jen Psaki,” “The Weekend,” “Deadline: White House” and “PoliticsNation.” He was also frequently talked about on the network even when he wasn’t appearing as a guest.

Cohen’s first interview It was on MSNBC that Trump did after he was found guilty of falsifying business records at his New York trial in 2024. According to Grabien, his last interview on the network was with weekend host Alex Witt in November about the Trump and Epstein files.

The progressive network has covered Trump’s 2024 criminal trial in New York extensively. According to Grabien transcript research, “Michael Cohen” was mentioned 10,906 times from April 15, 2024, when the trial began, to May 31, 2024 (the day after the verdict was announced).

But MS NOW ignored Cohen’s statement Monday afternoon that he felt “forced” to testify against Trump. Instead, the network’s coverage in recent days has focused on reports of the Trump administration’s crackdown on Minnesota and potential U.S. interest in purchasing Greenland.

According to transcript research using Grabien Media, MS NOW did not mention Cohen after Friday’s Substack bombshell until Monday morning. Cohen’s admission was also not listed on MS NOW’s website.

MS NOW did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Cohen said he made the admission because he did not believe that any American should be prosecuted for political purposes.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Cohen said, “The purpose of the Substack post was to expose my feelings, how I feel about the corrupt practices of the Department of Injustice. No one, not me, not Donald Trump, not any Donald Doe, should be prosecuted for political purposes. This is the essence of our democratic republic and why Lady Justice wears a blindfold.”

MSNBC was rebranded as MS NOW late last year after Comcast announced it would spin off its cable networks into its own company called Versant, separating MSNBC from sister broadcast network NBC.

MS NOW is an acronym for “My Source for News, Views and the World.”

Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to several federal crimes, including campaign finance violations, tax evasion and lying to Congress.
