Palla Accuses Jagan Of Politicising Tirumala

VISAKHAPATNAM: Telugu Desam state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao accused former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of repeatedly invoking Lord Venkateswara’s name for political mileage. He said a leader who “understands neither Sanatana Dharma nor the sanctity of Tirumala” has no moral right to speak on matters of faith.
Calling Lord Venkateswara a “living symbol of the devotion of millions”, Palla said every rupee thrown into Hundi represents the trust of devotees and it is disrespectful to politicize such donations. Alleging that the previous YSRC government damaged the sanctity of Tirumala, he cited the Parakamani case as an example of “what happens when those facing allegations of theft are given the responsibility of sacred institutions”.
He cited alleged irregularities in votive offerings, property transfers and suspicious deaths of complainants and witnesses, describing them as part of a “broader modus operandi”. Regarding the adulterated oil scandal, he said serving substandard oil in laddu prasadam was a “serious betrayal of devotees”.
He also questioned YSRC leaders’ attempts to obstruct vigilance investigations and claimed that the recent SIT arrests were “just the beginning”.
