Modi government determined to wipe out drug menace from India, says Amit Shah

Union Interior Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, said that Narendra Modi government is determined to erase all kinds of narcotics from the country and has made efforts to achieve this goal.

He said that it is time to change the scale of action against the drug threat to be more success in the coming days, addressing the Second National Conference of the Heads of Narcotics (Antf) of states and trade union regions.

The conference organized by the Narcotics Control Office (NCB) started on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the new Delhi.

“Prime Minister Modi set the 2047 target to make India a completely developed and great nation. The country should be completely safe to realize this dream of Prime Minister Modi,” he said.

“The Modi government is determined to delete the drug threat from the country, and it makes efforts to achieve this goal,” he said.

“PM Modi will be the number one in the world in every respect until 2047 and has revealed the vision of creation of an India that will develop fully – it is more safe that no one can penetrate. Our youth is the greatest hope for this, and if it is determined, nothing is impossible because it is the basis of any nation.”

Mr. Shah said that in some parts of the world, people see the connection between the development of a nation and the difficulty of drug addiction. “Unfortunately, two of the regions where drugs are supplied globally are very close to us. So when we fight against it,” he said.

Interior minister said it is very important to save the young generation from drugs to reach a completely developed Indian goal. “The foundation of any great state is the younger generation, Mr Mr. Shah said.

Mr. Shah said that there are three types of narcotic cartels operating at all entrance points of the country, the other is distributing to the state from the entrance point, and the third is selling medicines in small shops or kiosks.

“It is time to get a big blow to these three types of cartridge. He said.

The Minister of the Interior also activated the process of destroying 4,794 crore -worth narcotics seized in different parts of the country.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, Mr. Shah said that the Modi government was determined to eliminate the threat of drugs by combining all Antfs. He also published NCB’s annual report in 2024.

In order to reveal the full scope of the drug deflection network, NCB is actively coordinated with state drug inspections, income tax officials and financial institutions.
