China Calls on US to Immediately Release Venezuela’s Maduro

BEIJING: China called on the United States to immediately release Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Sunday after Washington launched an attack on Caracas and captured the leader.

“China calls on the United States to ensure the personal safety of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, immediately release them, and stop overthrowing the Venezuelan government,” China’s foreign ministry said in a statement, calling the attack “a clear violation of international law.”
