Met Gala unfiltered: Beyoncé and Kylie Jenner’s real looks revealed after posting ‘FaceTuned’ photos

Beyonce has once again been accused of Photoshopping her social media photos to look more flattering.

Fans noticed that the 44-year-old actress, who served as the official co-chair at this year’s Met Gala, looked different in her red carpet photos compared to the glossy private photo shoots she shared on Instagram and her official website.

The Single Ladies hitmaker had smoother skin and a slimmer jawline in self-published photos, while some of her red carpet shots featured less flattering angles and lighting.

“In the photos she uploaded to her website and Instagram, yes, her face has clearly been Facetuned,” one fan wrote.

They added, ‘Not to mention that I’m not saying she isn’t gorgeous, by the way, because so many celebrities edit their photos. I’m just saying they shouldn’t do too much.’

Another said: ‘Beyoncé posted her facetuned photos after we saw it.’ he commented.

A third added: ‘She still looks amazing in those ‘unedited’ photos. Everybody’s adding filters to their promotional shots, I don’t understand why you’d expect celebrities to look exactly the same.’

However, many Beyonce supporters also defended the star, claiming that the differences in the photos were due to lighting and angles rather than editing.

Others also pointed out that fans of Nicki Minaj and Rihanna maliciously edited Beyoncé’s red carpet photos to make her look worse in an attempt to belittle her natural beauty.

‘You can never play with Beyonce’s face card! ‘Bey is an amazing man and you know it,’ one commented.

Another wrote: ‘Beyoncé hates posting edited/AI photos to make herself look bad, completely forgetting that her photos (real photos) are now FRONT PAGE news on every publication for the whole world to see how amazing she is. Who do they think they’re fooling?’

Beyonce was previously caught posting what appeared to be heavily altered photos of herself at the F1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas last year.

The Cowboy Carter hitmaker isn’t the only celebrity who decided to share a professional Met Gala photo shoot at the Met Gala this year on social media.

Kim Kardashian also posed for a flattering photo shoot From British photographer Nadia Lee Cohen.

Her younger sister, Kylie Jenner, was also accused of sharing more flattering images of herself on social media compared to Getty’s red carpet images.

A glamorous selfie posted to her Instagram Stories looked noticeably different from some of the stark red carpet shots in which she was caught in poor lighting and unattractive camera angles.

Jenner confirmed in 2023 that she no longer heavily edits her social media photos.

‘I feel like we have a huge amount of influence, and what do we do with that power?’ she said on an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians.

‘I went through those stages too. I feel like I’m in a better place. But other people can instill distrust in you.’

Jenner’s Met Gala photos on Instagram appear to have not been heavily edited; so it’s more likely that she chose photos taken with nice lighting rather than airbrushing anything on her page.

Like Jenner, her older sister Khloe Kardashian has also cut back on FaceTuning in her photos.

Khloe has been a constant Photoshop offender over the years, and was widely mocked in 2020 for an intensely cool selfie she shared on Instagram.

However, Kardashian now claims that she has scaled back her photo editing practices.

‘There was a time when I absolutely did. “There was a time when I was around some people and it felt like they needed me,” he admitted on his podcast.

“So there are definitely days where it’s like, ‘Oh, I need a filter, I’m not feeling well,’ but I’m on video,” he added.
