‘Acharya’s Call,’ reprinted volumes of Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi’s discourses launched

Kanchi Kamakoti Peetaadhipati Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal has published a reprinted edition of “The Call of the Acharya”, twin volumes of discourses of Mahaperiyava, Jagadguru Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal, delivered between 1957-1960. Hindu.
After presenting the books at the Brindavanams of Mahaperiyava and Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal in Kancheepuram, the pope gave the first copy to Nirmala Lakshman, Chairman of The Hindu Group THG Publishing Private Limited.
During Acharya’s stay at Madras Sanskrit College in 1957-58, he blessed the devotees with daily discourses on Dharma, Vedas, Shastras, Puranas, Itihasaas, Sthala Mahatmyams, philosophy and various subjects related to our culture.
These were recorded by the then Deputy Chief Correspondent. HinduV. Ramakrishnan and reported Hinduwithin space constraints and other limitations. So with the encouragement of V. Ramakrishnan Hindu his family recorded all the speeches of Mahaswami with Sanskrit quotes etc. wrote and compiled it in full. This was published in two volumes as “Acharya’s Call” in 1964 on the occasion of Mahaperiyava’s 75th Jayanti. The book was reprinted in 1995 and 2022.
Recently the book has been reorganized with topic-wise categorization to make it easier for the readers and this re-edition has been printed and published during the auspicious period of Ugadi and Sri Rama Navami Mahotsavam. A similar chronicle of Mahaswami’s lectures in the Chittoor district between 1930 and 1932 was published as “Kanchi Acharya Diaries”.
