Three killed in explosion at LA Sheriff’s Department training facility

Authorities said that three officers were killed in a explosion in a law enforcement facility in East Los Angeles.

The explosion took place on Friday at 07:30 local time (15:30 BST), the Sheriff department’s special executive office and the boom team, including the Biscailuz Center Academy training facility, which contains details of the arson explosives.

The exact reason for the explosion is still under investigation, but Sheriff Robert Luna of LASD described it as a “isolated event”. There was no additional injury.

Sheriff said that the three officers killed in the explosion were “fantastic experts” and veterans of the department, each serving between 19 to 33 years.

The authorities did not publish the names of the deceased civil servants by stating the need to inform their families. All three of them were appointed to the details of the Sheriff Department.
