India receives Trump’s invitation to join Gaza’s ‘Board of Peace’ amid US trade tensions

The invitation reportedly comes as the US administration moves towards formalizing the “Peace Board” structure linked to Trump’s broader Gaza road map.

High-profile names are on the Gaza Peace Board, a US-led initiative announced by President Donald Trump as part of his 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza. According to sources, many countries have received official invitations to participate and India is the last country to join this list.

The invitation reportedly comes as the US administration moves towards formalizing the “Peace Board” structure linked to Trump’s broader Gaza road map.

On Friday, the White House announced the list of people appointed to the “Peace Board” to oversee the second phase of the 20-Point Peace Plan to end the Gaza conflict. In the statement made by the White House, it was stated that the names included US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, World Bank President Ajay Banga and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. The list also includes Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan and US Deputy National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel. Explaining roles and responsibilities under the initiative, the White House said: “Board members will oversee defined portfolios critical to the stability and long-term success of Gaza, including but not limited to governance capacity building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment attraction, large-scale financing, and capital mobilization.” and translating the Board’s mandate and diplomatic priorities into disciplined practice.

Within the scope of the administrative mechanism under the plan, Executive Board member Nickolay Mladenov will serve as the High Representative for Gaza and will act as the on-the-ground liaison between the Peace Council and the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).

Describing NCAG as a key component of phase two, the White House said it is a vital step in implementing Phase Two of its Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict – a 20-point roadmap for lasting peace, stability, reconstruction and prosperity in the region.

NCAG will be led by Ali Sha’ath, a widely respected technocratic leader who will oversee the restoration of essential public services, rebuilding civilian institutions, and stabilization of daily life in Gaza, as well as laying the foundation for a long-term, self-sustaining administration, the White House statement said.

Besides governance and restructuring planning, the statement also outlined security arrangements to ensure stability. The White House also said Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF), where he will lead security operations, support comprehensive disarmament, and ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and reconstruction supplies to ensure security, maintain peace, and create a persistent terrorism-free environment.

The announcement also included the names of members of the Gaza Executive Board, including Blair, Kushner and Witkoff, as well as Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al Thawadi and others.
