Afghan man jailed for five years for TikTok threat to kill Nigel Farage | Nigel Farage

A man who arrived in the UK on a small boat was sentenced to five years in prison for threatening to kill Nigel Farage in a TikTok video last year.

Fayaz Khan, 26, an Afghan national, threatened to kill the Reform UK leader on October 14, 2024 on the social media platform, which Farage said was “pretty chilling”.

Khan was sentenced at Southwark crown court on Tuesday after being found guilty at a hearing last week. He was also sentenced to prison for entering the UK illegally, having previously pleaded guilty.

Farage attended the hearing with security guards and sat across from journalists.

Jurors were previously told that Farage uploaded a video to YouTube on October 12 last year titled “an illegal immigrant’s journey”, which highlighted Khan and referred to “young men of war age coming into our country about whom we know very little”.

Prosecutor Peter Ratliff said Khan responded with a video shown to the jury two days later, in which Khan said: “British Nigel, don’t talk bad about me.

“You don’t know me. I came to England because I wanted to marry your sister. You don’t know me.”

“Don’t talk about me no more. Delete the video. I’m coming to England. I’m gonna pop, pop, pop.”

Ratliff told jurors that Khan made “hand gun gestures” as he went “pop, pop, pop” and also head-butted the camera during the video and pointed to the AK-47 tattoo on his face to “emphasize that he wasn’t joking.”
