Afghanistan vet becomes first double amputee to scale seven summits | News

The Afghanistan veteran became the first double above-knee amputee to climb the highest peak on each of the seven continents.
Hari Budha Magar, from Canterbury Kent, lost both legs in an IED explosion while serving in the British Army in 2010.
The footage shows the moment Mr Magar reached the summit of Antarctica’s 16,059ft (4,892m) Mount Vinson after a grueling three-day hike. This achievement came after years of training to prepare for the record-breaking attempt.
“The climb was very challenging, the conditions and difficulty meant I was literally struggling to climb the mountain by crawling on all fours,” he said.
